The Truman National Security Project Welcomes Anne Wedner to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Truman National Security Project is pleased to welcome Anne Wedner to our Board of Directors.

In this role, Anne Wedner will help guide Truman’s mission, advancing whole-of-society American leadership for human rights, inclusion, prosperity and security at home and around the globe.

Anne Wedner is joining the TNSP Board of Directors with a strong background in political consulting, strategic marketing, and diplomacy.

Wedner, an early-career Foreign Service Officer stationed in France and Venezuela, currently serves as a Commissioner on the US Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy.

“I’m honored to be re-joining the Truman National Security Project board and am fiercely proud of the work that CEO Jenna Ben Yehuda has done to make Truman integral to US National Security Policy development and implementation,” said Wedner. “Truman has a unique position in the pantheon of Washington DC organizations as a forward thinking, inclusive and grounded organization dedicated to reshaping America’s principled role in the world. For me, Truman embodies the heart of what America can be.”

Prior to her current role, Anne founded Kent Road Strategies, a nonprofit and political consulting firm. She has been a leader in developing grassroots political movements and continues to partner with organizations such as OrganizingCorps2020 and Mi Vecino to recruit and train effective community organizers.

“We’re excited to welcome Anne back to Truman,” said Jenna Ben Yehuda, Truman’s President & CEO. “Her infectious enthusiasm, deep board experience, and wide-ranging network at the intersection of politics and policy make her an exciting addition to the Truman Project Board of Directors.”

Anne holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a BA from Harvard. She is married to Marcus Wedner, and they have two daughters. Anne speaks Spanish and French, has good knowledge of German and is about to undergo intensive Portuguese language training.
