WASHINGTON, D.C. — This morning, the Truman National Security Project proudly announced our official endorsement of Rep. Scott Holcomb for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives.
“Scott has a long history of leaning into policy issues that directly help people in the community he serves,” said Angelic Young, Truman’s Vice President for Community and Impact. “He has a track record of putting people in his communities first and serving as an advocate on their behalf. Further, as a member of the Truman National Security Project, Class of 2007, we know he shares our Truman values and will bring them to the office of Georgia State Representative. Scott’s re-election as State Representative would be a win for national security.”
Among his accomplishments, Holcomb passed legislation to address the backlog of untested sexual assault kits and establish a statewide sexual assault tracking system; led efforts to reform Georgia’s approach to compensating individuals who are wrongfully convicted; and continues to prioritize expanding access to health insurance via Medicaid.
Holcomb, a long time member of the Truman National Security Project, has earned this endorsement through his integrity, expertise, and passion.
We heartily endorse his candidacy.
