Truman Backgrounders
Truman Backgrounders are short, well-messaged memos that help political leaders address tough national security challenges that are in the headlines—or should be. Our Backgrounders help elected leaders, candidates, and others quickly get up to speed on complex issues, and provide them with language to push hard national security problems in a progressive internationalist direction.
We know these are filling a crucial need: our Backgrounder on intelligence surveillance and wiretapping was posted on the Senate Majority Leader's website, our Backgrounders on illegal immigration have been used by Congressional Members and staff; and our Backgrounder on veterans' health were quoted during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Training Materials
