William Edwards
William
Edwards assists The Boeing Company with over $10 million of its charitable
giving annually, with a primary focus on Boeing's grantmaking in its
international communities. A former Legislative Assistant for both
Foreign Relations and Veterans' Affairs for U.S. Senator Jim Webb of Virginia,
he was the lead staffer for Senator Webb's Post-9/11 G.I. Bill legislation,
which became law on June 30, 2008. For these efforts he was recognized by
The Military Coalition as one of two recipients of their 2008 Freedom Award,
presented annually to Congressional staff whose efforts have done the most to
improve the lives of the military and their families. He is a a veteran
of four combat zone deployments as a U.S. Army officer, including
Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1999-2000, company command during Operation Iraqi Freedom
in 2003-2004, and most recently as a civil affairs officer with U.S. Army
Central in 2010. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of
Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He lives in Chicago
with his wife Anna, a Truman Partner.
