Todd Levett
Todd Levett is Senior Professional Staff Member at the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security. For the past three years he has managed a number of policy portfolios pertaining to the U.S. Secret Service, international security cooperation and border security technology programs, global counterterrorism, and interagency homeland defense/civil support matters. He has also served as the Committee’s deputy communications director focusing on strategic communications and messaging. Prior to joining the Committee on Homeland Security Levett served as an aide to Congressman Dick Gephardt in the Office of the House Democratic Leader, on the Gephardt for President Campaign, and in Congressman Gephardt’s Congressional office. He has also worked with the U.S. State Department where he was posted to the Executive Office of the Ambassador at the US Embassy in London.
Levett is a native of Cleveland, Ohio where for several years he was a writer and editor for the NEXT weekly feature section of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Levett earned his bachelors degree in political science from American University and has also studied homeland security leadership at the University of Connecticut in conjunction with the Naval Postgraduate School. He is presently enrolled in the Naval War College’s fleet seminar program.
Levett is the recipient of professional distinctions including a State Department certificate of appreciation and has guest lectured classes from the National War College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, and George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
