Robert Berschinski
Rob Berschinski serves as Director for Security and Human Rights Policy on the National Security Council staff at the White House. Prior to joining the NSC, Rob served as a director for civilian protection and rule of law issues in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Formerly a Presidential Management Fellow, Rob has held positions as Director for Defense Policy on the National Security Council staff and as the defense fellow on the staff of the Senate Appropriations Defense Subcommittee. Rob began his career in government service as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force, and served operational assignments in Korea, Germany, Rwanda, and Iraq. He later joined the U.S. Army War College as a visiting researcher, where he published a monograph on the Department of Defense's Combatant Command for Africa entitled "AFRICOM's Dilemma." He holds a B.A. and M.A. from Yale University.
