Robert Begland
Rob Begland is a partner in the litigation department of the national law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP (Los Angeles office). Before practicing law, Rob served as a foreign policy adviser in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and an intelligence officer in U.S. Army special operations forces. His work at OSD (1996-1997) focused on high-level implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords for Bosnia, including shuttle diplomacy aimed at securing compliance from Croatia and Serbia. His service as a Regular Army intelligence officer (1991-1995), was with psychological operations and special forces units operating in Haiti, Colombia, the Persian Gulf, and the Korean Peninsula. He holds a B.A. with High Distinction from the University of Virginia, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
