Richard Wheeler
Richard U. Wheeler is an artist, designer and consultant whose work spans the domains of security, technology, and the environment. Wheeler is the Chief Technology Officer and a Managing Partner of Carnot Systems, a consulting firm. He is currently working towards a Master's in Fine Arts degree from UCLA's Department of Design and Media Arts, holds a Master's degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University's Security Studies Program, and a bachelor's degree in History from Hunter College, CUNY. Wheeler has worked on geospatial, imagery, and network analysis projects for numerous federal government agencies and the United States military. He has written and on defense technology issues for "Wired" magazine's "Danger Room" blog, and he has spoken frequently on defense, technology and environmental issues in the Los Angeles area. Prior to his career in technology and defense, Wheeler worked for over a decade in art and design, working first in publishing as a designer and photo editor for magazines such as "Interview", "Art in America", and "Spin", and then as a fashion designer creating designs of handbags, shoes, and jewelry for Ann Taylor, Tuleh, Judith Leiber, Calvin Klein and Sigerson Morrison. Wheeler currently lives in Los Angeles, CA.
