Rebecca Katz

Rebecca Katz is an Assistant Research Professor at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services in the Department of Health Policy. She is also an expert consultant to the Department of State in the Office of Biological Weapons Affairs, Bureau of Verification, Compliance and Implementation. Her research is focused on public health preparedness, attribution of biological weapons use, and the intersection of infectious disease and national security. Her current major research project, funded by the CDC, examines the implementation of the International Health Regulations. Rebecca resides in Bethesda, Maryland, in the same area where she was raised. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Economics from Swarthmore College, an MPH in International Health and Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Yale University, and a PhD in Public Affairs from Princeton University, Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
