Rebecca Johnson
Dr. Rebecca Johnson is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Pubic Policy Institute at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she teaches graduate courses on international ethics, religion and peacebuilding, and post-conflict reconstruction. She has also taught at the School of International Service at American University and served as Academic Director for the South Carolina Washington Semester Program. Rebecca has lectured on Balkan history for U.S. police officers preparing to deploy to the international policing mission in Kosovo through Civilian Police International. She has published multiple articles and book chapters on counterinsurgency and post-conflict reconstruction. In addition, she is a weekly columnist for UPI's Religion and Spirituality Forum. Rebecca earned her Ph.D. (2003) and M.A. (2002) in Government from Georgetown University. While completing her dissertation on multilateral peacekeeping efforts in the Balkans, she spent a year at The Brookings Institution as a research fellow and contributed to the State Department’s Kosovo History Project. She received her B.A. with honors (1996) from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society, International Studies Association, and Women in International Security. Rebecca is from the Great State of Texas and is an avid Longhorns fan.
