Peter Lohman
Peter Lohman is a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State. He is currently in training for an assignment to southern India in 2010. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Peter worked in the State Department's Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism on a project that sought to build public-private partnerships in conflict-torn regions. Prior to that, Peter was a research fellow with the Project on National Security Reform where he worked on recommendations for improving U.S. interagency operations abroad. Peter served in the U.S. Army as a cavalry officer from 2001-2005. He spent 2004-2005 serving in Samarra, Iraq with the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Peter received a M.A. in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a B.S. in Political Science from the United States Military Academy. Peter is a native of the Washington, D.C. area.
