Olivier Kamanda

 

Olivier is a writer, lawyer, and native Washingtonian.

 

Olivier serves as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for the Adams Morgan neighborhood and is Chair of the Alcohol Beverage Control & Public Safety Committee.

 

He is editor-in-chief of Foreign Policy Digest and a former speechwriter for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. While at the State Department, Olivier was also special assistant to Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Agricultural Affairs covering. He is also a past columnist for the Huffington Post on world affairs.

 

Olivier has served on a number of boards including the Board of Trustees of Princeton University, the National Center for Global Engagement, and the Junior Board of the New Futures Scholarship. He is also a Principal of the Truman National Security Project. Olivier is also a volunteer sous-chef at Miriam’s Kitchen—a homeless services organization.

 

Olivier received his B.S.E from Princeton University in Operations Research & Financial Engineering and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he was an executive editor of the Journal of International Law.
