Nealin Parker

Nealin Parker is currently the Deputy Director of the Office of Transition Initiatives at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID/OTI).  OTI supports U.S. foreign policy objectives by helping local partners advance peace and democracy in priority countries in crisis including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti and "Arab Spring" countries in North Africa and the Middle East.   Prior to OTI, she served as Chief of Staff at the Center on International Cooperation (CIC), a New York-based think-tank focused on policy research for the United Nations and other multilateral organizations.  There her policy portfolio included peacekeeping, statebuilding, rule of law and democracy and new initiatives in climate and food security.  She has worked on post-conflict transitions with Interpeace, the Bobst Center on Peace and Justice, IFES, and The Carter Center in Latin America, Africa, South East Asia and Europe.  Her work with these institutions has included implementation of peace agreements, technical assistance for elections, post-conflict tribunals and management of constitution-building processes.  She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
