Michael Kovac, a recent candidate for the Santa Monica City Council, is the founder of Yield Media, an operations and technology strategy consultancy which advises companies ranging from start-up organizations to global media conglomerates.  With more than 15 years of technology, business development, and project management experience, Michael's background covers entertainment, technology, real estate,and politics.  Michael began his career in consulting at Informix Software (now IBM), during which time he developed the original web portal for the Quality & Practices division.  He progressed from technology to operational strategy at Deloitte & Touche as part of their Management Solutions & Services mid-market consulting practice – working in the manufacturing, retail and financial sectors. 

Michael took his experience in technology and operations to Homestore.com (now Move.com), the leading online Real Estate firms, where he spent close to four years helping to manage operational and business systems growth of the then-startup.  As a principal of Yield Media, Michael has spent the past 6 years helping to launch and market venture-backed start-ups, and has also provided strategic consulting and project management to high-growth companies in the technology, entertainment, and retail sectors.
