Michael Boyle

Michael Boyle is a Lecturer in International Relations and a Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at the University of St. Andrews. He holds an M.Phil and Ph.D. in International Relations from Cambridge University and an MPP from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He has held fellowships at Stanford, Harvard and the Australian National University. His research interests range from terrorism and political violence to humanitarian intervention, peacekeeping and reconstruction of failed states. He also publishes regularly on American foreign policy. He is currently working on a book manuscript on the logic of strategic violence in post-conflict states.
