Matt Bailey
Matt Bailey works for Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) on issues relating to national defense, foreign affairs, the armed services, and veterans affairs. Immediately prior to assuming this position, Matt completed his law degree at The George Washington University Law School during which he served for two years on the Executive Board of the National Democratic Law Students Council, most recently as President. A native of Jena, Louisiana, he graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Matt was honorably discharged from the Louisiana Army National Guard with six years of service and worked for defense contractor MPRI in Denver before attending law school. He has completed legal internships with the US Air Force, Louisiana Court of Appeals, and a large law firm in Shreveport, as well as a policy internship with Third Way.
