Mark Simakovsky

Mark Simakovsky is the Country Director for Georgia and Moldova in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Policy. Previously, he served as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) in the Office of Russian Affairs, U.S. Department of State. While a PMF, he worked as Special Assistant to the Director of Eurasia policy in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European & NATO Policy.  From 2005-2006, Mark lived in Georgia as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar, focusing on Russia-Georgia relations and the impasse over the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.  Mark received a Masters in Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University.
