Katheryn Hayes has spent the last decade developing communications and political strategy to advance progressive and innovative public policies, especially in education.  She currently works on community college reform as Director of External Communications at the City Colleges of Chicago and previously charter schools as Communications Director of The Renaissance Schools Fund.  Hayes has also consulted on issue campaigns around immigration, community development, and the environment.  She served as a Deputy Communications Director on a US Senate campaign, and began her career in television news at WGN-TV in Chicago and WSIL-TV in Southern Illinois.  A native of Chicago, Hayes received her BA magna cum laude from Harvard College.
