Kate Houstoun
Kate Houstoun is Director of Green Economy Initiatives for the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN), a five hundred member business association, where she oversees research in emerging industries and develops business education programs. Kate leads Philadelphia's Green Economy Task Force and has recruited over three hundred new members for the Task Force in her first year, more than doubling participation. Prior to SBN, Kate worked for six years in workforce development serving formerly incarcerated and homeless adults at The Doe Fund and in community development and environmental education in Mexico for American Friends Service Committee. Kate is a Center for Progressive Leadership fellow and a past fellow of Green For All Academy and Bryn Mawr College's Executive Leadership Institute. Kate was appointed by Philadelphia's Mayor to serve on the Citizen Advisory Committee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and the Advisory Board for the Mayor's Office of Community Services.
