Karen Naimer

Karen Naimer is an attorney specializing in public international law, international criminal law, human rights and anti-corruption. She was recently the Edmond J. Safra faculty fellow at Harvard's center for ethics. Previously, she was an Associate Professor at NYU's Center for Global Affairs, where she taught public international law. Prior to teaching, she served as Deputy Counsel at the Independent Inquiry Committee into the United Nations Oil-For-Food Programme (the Volcker Commission), where she investigated allegations of widespread corruption, money laundering, and fraud by high-level UN officials, members of the Security Council, national governments, and oil companies. She clerked for President Theodor Meron of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and prior to that, she served as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.  She holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law; a J.D. and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Toronto; and a B.A. from McGill University.
