Jude Soundar is an attorney with a concentration in information technology law. He currently works in the Office of Innovation in the Office of the Chief Information Officer of the Social Security Administration. He develops social media strategy and is working on a contest in the area of accessibility for the government platform for challenges -challenge.gov. Previously, he was a Senior Compliance Officer and Attorney at JPMorgan Chase, concentrating on Internet, privacy, banking compliance issues and off-shoring projects.
Before working as an attorney, Jude was a technologist concentrating on database administration and database security at a major accounting firm and multinational bank. He also founded www.legalfish.com, a legal matching site connecting consumers with lawyers.
Jude is also a Captain in the Army Reserve in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps. He was mobilized, in 2009, to active duty in the Information Technology Division of the United States Army Legal Services Agency and served as the first Knowledge Management Officer for the Army JAG Corps. In 2010, he led the strategy and launch of the social media presence of The Judge Advocate General of the Army, Lieutenant General Chipman. Jude received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Jude was born in New York City, but grew up in a small town in central Illinois called LeRoy. His parents are immigrants from India and he travels to India often for work and pleasure.
