John Sheehan

John Sheehan is currently pursuing his Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, concentrating in International and Global Affairs.  John's primary area of focus is the Horn of Africa, and he spent the summer of 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya working for the United Nations Political Office for Somalia.  Prior to starting at Harvard, John worked as a research specialist with political consulting firm Varoga & Rice and in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.  While at the State House, John was responsible for initiating the revocation of Robert Mugabe's honorary degree from the University of Massachusetts, marking the first occasion that an American institution stripped an international figure of the honor.  John also authored "Terror-Free" pension investment legislation that became a national model after being submitted in over a dozen states.  John is a Massachusetts native and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
