Ian Bassin is a member of the Obama-Biden Presidential Transition Team Education Policy Working Group.  Most recently, Ian served as the Florida Policy Director for the Obama campaign, where he helped develop Senator Obama’s space policy.  Prior to joining the campaign, Ian was a law clerk for the Honorable Sidney R. Thomas of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Ian has a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as the Online and Symposium Editor of The Yale Law Journal, was a finalist in the Morris Tyler Moot Court of Appeals, and served as President of the Yale Law School Chapter of the American Constitution Society.  He was the Founder and Director of The Alito Project, which produced a report for the United States Senate in conjunction with the Center for American Progress on the published opinions of then-Judge Samuel Alito.  His writing has been published in the Harvard Law & Policy Review, Opening Argument, and other periodicals.  Ian is a native of New York City.
