Henry (Hank) Edward Moon III
Hank Moon is a 2004 Distinguished
Graduate of the US Air Force Academy; he graduated #2 of 974 with Academic,
Military and Athletic distinction. After earning his commission, Hank was
selected as a Public Service Fellow at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of
Government, where he graduated with his Master in Public Policy focusing on
International Security in 2006. As a Logistics Readiness Officer, Hank served
as a Flight Commander at Grand Forks AFB before volunteering for a year-long
deployment as an embedded trainer to the Iraqi Army in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
Hank spent his final 2 years in the Air Force at Supreme Headquarters Allied
Powers Europe, NATO’s military headquarters in Belgium. During his time at SHAPE,
Hank was directly involved with Operations AFGHAN ASSIST and UNIFIED PROTECTOR
in Afghanistan and Libya, respectively. Additionally, he deployed to Islamabad,
Pakistan as a NATO logistics expert after the 2010 floods. His military
decorations include the Bronze Star, AF Commendation Medal, Joint Service
Achievement Medal, AF Achievement Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal and the
Humanitarian Service Medal. Hank separated from the Air Force on October 1st,
2011 and is in his first year of law school at Yale.
