Gregory Kausner

Gregory M. Kausner is currently a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where he covers the international security portfolio including defense policy, security assistance, and counterterrorism. Also an officer in the Navy Reserves, he currently serves as an analyst at the Office of Naval Intelligence.

From 1999-2010, Gregory was an active duty officer in the United States Navy. His last assignment was with the Office of Legislative Affairs, where he acted as a liaison to the U.S. Senate. Prior to arriving in Washington DC, he was a department head and a flight instructor at the East Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron where he trained new aviators to fly the F/A-18. As an F/A-18 and F-14 pilot in the fleet, he twice deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Gregory holds a M.A in Security Studies from Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
