Erik Woodhouse earned his B.A. in International Studies and Philosophy from Emory University and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he edited the Stanford Journal of International Law. He has served as a post-doctoral fellow with the Program on Energy & Sustainable Development at Stanford University and as a law clerk for Judge M. Margaret McKeown of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. More recently, Mr. Woodhouse was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, where his practice included litigation, primarily appellate and securities cases, and transactional work, primarily international infrastructure development and investment in the energy sector. While on leave in 2008, he co-directed the voter protection program for the Obama/Biden campaign in New Mexico. Mr. Woodhouse has worked with the Government of Bolivia on questions related to international law and development, and has published on related issues in the Stanford Journal of International Law, the N.Y.U. Journal of International Law & Politics and with the World Bank. He is fluent in Spanish.
