Eric Pelofsky

Eric Pelofsky is an attorney-adviser in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State, concentrating on political military issues, including international humanitarian law. He previously served as a Deputy General Counsel of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA). There, he served as the principal legal adviser to the CPA's Governance Team on Iraqi political, electoral, and transition issues. Prior to this, he served as an attorney-adviser in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the Department of State, primarily advising on legal issues related to U.S. foreign policy towards Cuba. Before joining the Department of State, he was an associate in the corporate department of White & Case LLP, a major international law firm in New York City. He received a Juris Doctorate from Cornell Law School, a Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University, and a Bachelors of Arts from Haverford College.
