Eric Maltzer
Eric Maltzer is a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Office of Global Change (America's 20-person climate change negotiations office) at the U.S. Department of State. In this role, he promotes America's state and local responses to climate change, helps manage U.S. involvement in international clean energy organizations, and serves as one of a dozen experts on climate change for State Department staff around the world. Before joining the State Department, Eric was an environmental strategist in the Boston office of Esty Environmental Partners. Before working in the energy and environmental sector, Eric worked at the Pentagon, in the Latin America branch of Army International Affairs.
Eric has a Master's in Public Policy (M.P.P.) from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he concentrated on energy and environmental policy, as well as negotiation and conflict resolution. At the Kennedy School, he was the teaching assistant for the popular ""Arts of Communication"" course. Eric has a B.A. from Yale University in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. He hails from Tampa, Florida and was the Florida Deputy Policy Director for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. He loves the beach, the Bucs, and college a cappella.
