Devin T. Stewart joined Japan Society as Senior Director of Corporate, Policy & Lecture Programs in November of 2010. From April 2006 to November 2010, he was Program Director and Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. Previously, he was Assistant Director of Studies and Japan Studies Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. He is a Carnegie Council Senior Fellow, Next Generation Fellow, Truman Security Fellow, adviser to Sustainable Profitability Group, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University. Devin's articles have appeared in more than ten languages in numerous publications, including the American Interest, Newsweek, Foreign Policy, and the National Interest. He also is author of the Japan chapter in Energy Security Challenges for the 21st Century: A Reference Handbook (Praeger Security International, 2009). He received a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Delaware where he won a scholarship to study Arab immigration in France. He holds an M.A. from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., and Bologna, Italy. He is a recipient of the Nakasone Scholarship for the Aspen Institute's Socrates Society meeting.
