David Zipper serves as the Executive Director for Training in the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS). At SBS David has responsibility for designing, implementing, and managing a new $4 million job training initiative that encourages businesses to expand employment opportunities for low-income New Yorkers. A believer in the power of job creation to bring hope to America's struggling urban neighborhoods, David has previously worked as a Senior Associate at the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, a non-profit organization promoting private-sector led investment in inner cities across the United States. He holds an MBA with Highest Honors from Harvard Business School and a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Cambridge, where he received a Gates Scholarship. David earned his BA with High Honors from Swarthmore College, where he was selected as a Truman Scholar.
