Christopher Finan serves as the Special Assistant for Intelligence and Cyber Issues to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. Prior to his return to government service, Mr. Finan founded a national security consulting business and managed a program supporting the Army’s Human Terrain System. Mr. Finan also led east coast program development efforts for Veterans Green Jobs, a non-profit organization training Veterans for careers in green industries. Prior to his non-profit and private sector work, Mr. Finan served seven years in the US Air Force as a pilot and intelligence officer, including a 2006 to 2007 tour in Iraq where he worked with the Iraqi government on counterterrorism analysis and served as the intelligence briefer for the Multinational Force-Iraq Commanding General. After attending public schools in northeastern Pennsylvania, Mr. Finan studied Political Science and Arabic at the United States Air Force Academy. Mr. Finan has written on Iraq and counterterrorism issues, and has advised members of Congress on national security policy. Mr. Finan served as a Veterans representative on the Obama Presidential campaign.
