Charles London

Charles London, a former Research Associate for Refugees International, is the author of One Day The Soldiers Came: Voices of Children in War (HarperPerennial). His writing has appeared in a variety of publications including The New York Times Magazine, The Nation, ReliefWeb, New Voices, and O: The Oprah Magazine. His second book, Far From Zion, an exploration of faith, politics, and community through the experience of the Jewish diaspora in far-flung places, will be published in in October 2009 by William Morrow.

Charles attended Columbia University and has been a coordinator and Instructor Trainer for an after school program in Title One schools in New York City, a youth librarian for The New York Public Library, and the Program and Curriculum Director for War, Kids, Relief, a cross cultural peace-building and advocacy training program for American and Iraqi adolescents. He serves on the Junior Board of LitWorld, a community-based literacy program operating in Liberia and Kenya.
