Brad Belzak

Bradford D. Belzak is a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, managing the homeland security portfolio for the Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services, and International Security. Previously, Mr. Belzak spent five years at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security handling emergency preparedness & response, intelligence, terrorism finance, border security, maritime, transportation and 9/11 Act Implementation issues. During this time, he has held positions as a Senior Policy Advisor to Department leadership, Deputy Chief of Staff during Hurricane Katrina recovery operations, Counterterrorism Analyst at the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center, and consultant at the Department of Treasury investigating and supporting global law enforcement entities with illegal border crossings, money laundering and counter-terrorism analysis. He is a member of The International Institute for Strategic Studies, Truman National Security Project, Woman in International Security (WIIS), World Affairs Council, and a recipient of the 2006 Manfred Woerner fellowship. Mr. Belzak holds a BA in Political Science with a concentration in International Security from Elon University in North Carolina. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
