Bill Burke-White
Bill Burke-White is Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where he teaches courses in international law, human rights, national security, and international criminal justice. Before that he was Lecturer in Public and International Affairs and Senior Special Assistant to Dean Slaughter at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School. He has written extensively on international law, international relations, and post-conflict justice systems, and has been a frequent media commentator on these issues. Bill has advised the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Government of Cambodia, and the U.N. Transitional Administration in East Timor on the establishment of international criminal tribunals, and has assisted with the Legal and Constitutional Commission of Rwanda, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and the international law group at Clifford Chance L.L.P. in London. His current work examines the impact of the rise of Russia and China on the international legal system, particularly in the sphere of energy. Bill received his B.A. from Harvard University, his J.D. from Harvard Law School, his M. Phil and Ph.D. in International Relations from Cambridge University.
