Ben Lowe is the Advocacy Communications Director at the Truman National Security Project. Previously a political organizer based in San Francisco, Ben has taken part in local, regional, and state-level advocacy and campaign efforts, and staffed successful Bay Area ballot measures in 2008 and 2010. During that time, Ben organized the placement of tens of thousands of phone calls to undecided voters, trained hundreds of volunteers how to be persuasive political messengers, engaged in public debates, authored opinion pieces, and took part in interviews with print, radio, television, and online media.

Ben also has a background in homeland security policy. In 2009, he served on a Mayoral Task Force which studied the likely impacts of oil scarcity on the economy, transportation, housing, and other critical sectors of the City of San Francisco. And while a consultant with ICF International, Ben worked on the National Infrastructure Protection Plan, the Radiological Emergency Preparedness program, and the first region-wide assessment of the DC areas disaster readiness, the Emergency Management Accreditation Program DC regional pilot. Ben received a B.A. in Government from Cornell University.

Ben has been a Fellow with the Truman Project since January 2009.
