Anika Binnendijk is serving as the special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense (Policy). Her doctoral dissertation, supported by the United States Institute of Peace, examined security force responses to popular uprisings in Ukraine and Serbia.  Anika has worked at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the National Democratic Institute, and Fortune, Inc., and served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs. Anika received her undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University, and her masters and doctorate from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
