Andrew Michels
Andrew Michels is currently serving as the Senior Civilian Advisor on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pakistan Afghanistan Coordination Cell.
Previously, he was seconded by the US State Department to the International Civilian Office in Pristina, Kosovo, where he serves as the Security Affairs Adviser, where he he'd a team which supervised the creation of the national security apparatus in Kosovo, including a national security council and intelligence agency. He was a founding partner of Interlocutor LLC, a consulting firm which specializes in the public security-justice-development, providing advice on conflict mitigation, peacekeeping, post-conflict transitional administrations and security sector and justice reform. Before that he was the Director of Peacekeeping Operations and Humanitarian Affairs for DynCorp International. He was also the Executive Director and an adjunct professor at DePaul University School of Law's International Human Rights Law Institute. Prior to this he worked for the United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo and the OSCE in Bosnia Herzegovina. Andrew has a BA in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University, a JD from University of Southern California Law School and an MBA from New York University.
