Andrew Dickson

Andrew is an attorney at the law firm of Davis Polk and Wardwell LLP, where he is a member of the Corporate Department.  A Foreign Service Officer from 1999 to 2006, Andrew served overseas at the U.S. Embassy in Damascus, Syria and the American Institute in Taiwan.  In 2004 he served in Iraq as a member of the Coalition Provisional Authority and was posted to a Coalition Military camp in Karbala Province.  As a member of the provincial team he assisted local non-governmental organizations with governance issues and led reconstruction efforts with local Iraqi officials and tribal leaders to rebuild schools, hospitals and government facilities. Following his tours overseas he worked at the Department of State as a Political Officer covering human rights and rule of law issues on the China Desk.  Andrew holds an undergraduate degree in international relations with highest honors from the College of William and Mary and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.  He was born in New Jersey and lives in New York City.  He speaks Mandarin and Arabic.
