Amanda Curtis Mattingly was born in Wichita, Kansas in June 1974 and raised in Middletown, New Jersey. She graduated from Davidson College in 1996 and received a Masters degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2001. Mattingly worked at the National Security Council in the Office of Inter-American Affairs and the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs from 2000-2004. At the State Department, she served as a Presidential Management Fellow and Foreign Affairs Officer crafting and carrying out U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America. Mattingly focused on Venezuela, Bolivia, and Haiti and received a Superior Honor Award, a Meritorious Honor Award, and a Franklin Award. Since late 2004, Mattingly has worked with The Arkin Group, an international risk consulting firm specializing in strategic business intelligence, political and economic risk analysis, and due diligence for private sector clients. Mattingly has directed intelligence collection and analysis efforts in emerging and mature markets around the globe. Mattingly is a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and a former Thomas J. Watson Fellow. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and two sons.
