Adam Chepenik

Adam Chepenik, CFA is a Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Treasury where he advises and assists the Secretary, the Under Secretary for Domestic Finance, and the Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets in the development of public policy pertaining to the global capital markets, corporate finance and housing finance reform.

Prior to joining the Department of Treasury, Adam worked at The Blackstone Group, a leading alternative investment and financial advisory firm.  As a member of Blackstone’s restructuring and reorganization practice, Adam provided critical advice to senior government officials and corporate CEOs on a wide assortment of issues including global strategy and budget reform as well as valuation, capital structure optimization, bankruptcy, and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Chepenik worked in the Executive Office of the President of the United States where he helped facilitate the Office of Management and Budget's response to the global financial crisis and analyzed legislative, economic, regulatory, and organizational policies.  Mr. Chepenik began his career at JPMorgan Private Bank where advised high net worth individuals and families on a full range of wealth-related matters including asset allocation, opportunistic investments and structured solutions.

Mr. Chepenik holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MPA from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he graduated as a public service fellow.  He also holds three bachelor degrees, in Finance, Economics and Management Science and Statistics from the University of Maryland, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
