Aasil Ahmad

Aasil Ahmad is a co-founder and COO of Votifi.com, an online platform for political engagement that uses innovative polling techniques to engage with the increasingly mobile population of American voters.  He is also a Senior Fellow with Access, where he advises on issues pertaining to the relationship between human rights, technology and the Internet.

Aasil has broad expertise in media, technology and politics with a focus on developing strategies to overcome media censorship and bias in undemocratic environments.  He has worked on campaigns in Malaysia, Turkey and the Philippines.   He was also co-founder of ElectionMall Malaysia, Southeast Asia’s first dedicated provider of software services for campaigns and elections.

In 2000 Aasil was a Fulbright Scholar in Morocco, where he studied the relationship between telecommunications sector reform and economic development.   He is an avid photographer and has had photos published and displayed in leading journals and museums.  He speaks Arabic, French, Italian and Urdu and graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in International Affairs.
