Truman Springboard for Summer InternsThe Truman Springboard for summer interns is a unique program that offers all young progressives working in Washington DC over the summer the chance to gain abackground in foreign policy, national security, and how to communicate well on this crucial but little-understood topic. Our training program serves as a "springboard" for summer interns in Washington DC to learn about the rich tradition of progressive national security thought, and to join the Truman community. We particularly encourage interns without a strong background in the field, or who have never been interested in foreign policy, to attend! The springboard program consists of four one-hour, lunch time sessions every Friday over a four week period, and a fifth experiential, scenario-session over dinner on a Thursday after work. Recognized leaders in each field lead the weekly program. The program, including the lunch and reading material, is provided at no cost to the participants or their offices. We welcome interns from progressive organizations, activist groups, advocacy organizations, think tanks, Capitol Hill, and serving in other positions across Washington DC. For information and to sign up for our Summer 2008 Program, please send an email to info {at} trumanproject {dot} org "The Truman Project does progressives and the nation an extremely valuable service. Truman provides incredibly relevant, sophisticated, and well-informed analysis and training. The group also contains an unparalleled network of accomplished young foreign policy and national security experts and practitioners from a breathtakingly wide array of fields. The quality of the group's work is matched only by its energy and enthusiasm." |
