Camille Eiss
Camille Eiss is the Policy Director for the Truman National Security Project, where she establishes policy priorities and positions to inform Truman's advocacy, communications and leadership development programs. In addition to designing policy programming, Camille launched and directs both the Truman Project's Nuclear Policy and Democracy & Human Rights Initiatives, designed to engage members across Truman's community in advancing nuclear security and the protection of universal rights as key tenets of American national security.
Camille formerly worked for Freedom House as a Research Analyst and Assistant Editor of Freedom in the World, the definitive global survey of political rights and civil liberties. She covered political and human rights developments in Southeast Asia as well as Turkey and Iran. She has conducted human rights assessment missions in the Philippines and Indonesia and, as a Senior Associate with Endeavor, an international development organization, has worked to advance entrepreneurship in emerging market economies. Camille has also served as Associate Managing Editor of The Washington Quarterly at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where she co-edited a book on preemption, regime change, and U.S. policy toward Iran, Iraq, and North Korea.
Camille holds a BA in History & Government from Georgetown University and an MA in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economics.
