Suzanne Nossel

Suzanne Nossel is a Senior Fellow at the Security and Peace Institute, a joint initiative of the Center for American Progress and The Century Foundation. She focuses on issues including US - UN relations, UN reform multilateral diplomacy, and the future of liberal internationalism. She is chief of operations at Human Rights Watch, and previously served as Vice President for Corporate Strategy at Bertelsmann. Prior to that she served as Deputy to the Ambassador for UN Management and Reform at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, where she was responsible for negotiating a settlement of U.S. arrears to the world body and received the Distinguished Honor Award, the State Department's highest honor. She has previously served as consultant at McKinsey & Company and as a Regional Officer of the South African National Peace Accord. Her publications have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Dissent, the National Interest, the Fletcher Forum on World Affairs, the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Boston Globe and elsewhere. She is the author of a book on women in the legal profession.
