Peter Beinart

 

Peter Beinart is a Senior Political Writer for The Daily Beast-Newsweek, Associate Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York, and a Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation. Mr. Beinart is the author of two books, The Good Fight: Why Liberals - and Only Liberals - Can Win the War on Terror and Make America Great Again, and The Icarus Syndrome: A History of American Hubris, both of which were published by HarperCollins, in 2006 and 2010, respectively. He expects to release his third book, titled, The Crisis of Zionism, in April 2012. 

 

Mr. Beinart formerly served as Editor in Chief of The New Republic, where he contributed to the weekly TRB column, which also runs in The New York Post. He served as Managing Editor and Senior Editor of the magazine prior to becoming Editor in Chief, and has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, The Boston Globe, The Atlantic Monthly, Newsweek, and Time. He is a regular guest on CNN and has appeared on multiple television news programs. Mr. Beinart graduated from Yale University in 2003, and received his M.Phil in International Relations from University College, Oxford, which he attended on a Rhodes Scholarship.
