Mark Levine

A former Legislative Counsel to Democratic Congressman Barney Frank, Mark Levine currently hosts the Washington-based TV talk show The Inside Scoop and the Raucous Caucus on Pacifica Radio. Mark also regularly appears on FOX, MSNBC, CNN-HLN, Fox Business, and CNBC, tangling with everyone from Bill O'Reilly to the hosts of NPR. He regularly guest-hosts the nationally-syndicated Leslie Marshall Show, was the sole non-black host on XM's black talk radio, and, at one time, even briefly hosted a show on Iranian TV (until they censored him and he quit). His diverse legislative resume includes drafting for the Congressional Black Caucus the Constitutional Challenge to the Bush/Gore Election, writing path-breaking domestic-violence and gay-rights legislation, fighting the Bush faith-based initiative, and drafting a section of the USA-PATRIOT Act. He's also briefly held jobs as diverse as inner-city school teacher and Nazi hunter.
Whether the attacks come from the Right or the Left, Mark strives for consistency in his political philosophy, and he wields his pocket Constitution as rhetorical weapon. Mark holds an economics degree magna cum laude from Harvard, a law degree from Yale, and a Fulbright Scholarship from Switzerland. He is also a Senior Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.
