Ivo H. Daalder
Ivo Daalder is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he holds the Sydney Stein Jr. Chair in International Security. He was previously director of research at the Center for International and Security Studies, and was an associate professor at the University of Maryland's School of Public Affairs. From 1995-1996, Mr. Daalder served as director for European Affairs on the National Security Council, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. policy towards Bosnia. From 1998-2001, he was a member of the Study Group of the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century (the Hart-Rudman Commission), a prescient multi-year examination of U.S. national security requirements. Mr. Daalder has been a fellow at Harvard University's Center for Science and International Affairs and the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. He is the author of ten books, and is a frequent commentator on international affairs. Mr. Daalder is the recipient of a Pew Faculty Fellowship in International Affairs and an International Affairs Fellowship of the Council of Foreign Relations. He was educated at Oxford and Georgetown Universities, and received his Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
