David Rothkopf
As a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment, David Rothkopf has written Running the World: The Inside Story of the NSC and the Architects of American Power. He has now begun work on his next book, Superclass, due out in 2007 from Farrar, Straus & Giroux, which will look at global elites and how they are shaping globalization and being shaped by it. He is an adjunct professor of international affairs at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. In addition, he is also president and ceo of Garten Rothkopf, an international advisory firm specializing in emerging markets investing and risk management related services. Previously, Rothkopf was founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Intellibridge, a firm offering open-source intelligence and advisory services on international issues, after serving for two years as managing director of Kissinger Associates. Mr. Rothkopf is on the board of advisors of multiple organizations, serving as a senior advisor to the World Economic Forum, Foreign Policy magazine, the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Johns Hopkins/Bloomberg School of Public Health, the U.S. Committee on NATO, and multiple corporations. In the first Clinton administration, Mr. Rothkopf served as Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Policy, and Haiti Economic Reconstruction Coordinator. He previously served as Chairman, CEO, and founder of International Media Partners, Inc., publishers of CEO/International Strategies magazine, where he developed scenarios on international themes with former CBS News President Fred Friendly and others. Mr. Rothkopf is the author of over 200 articles on international affairs and multiple books.
