Cory Booker

Cory Booker is serving his second term as Mayor of Newark, New Jersey.  He is a partner in the Newark law firm of Booker, Rabinowitz, et al, and is also the President of Newark Now, a grassroots nonprofit group. He is a Senior Fellow at the Rutgers University School of Public Policy and Planning, an honorary Public Interest Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and a visiting Associate at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Cory served for four years as Newark's Central Ward Councilman. His 2002 mayoral run in Newark was chronicled in the Academy Award nominated documentary "Street Fight".  In 1997 he was Staff Attorney for the Urban Justice Center in New York, and Program Coordinator of the Newark Youth Project. Mr. Booker is a member of several boards, including the Executive Committee of Yale Law School; Columbia University Teachers' College; the Black Alliance for Educational Options; North Star Academy; Integrity Inc.; and the International Longevity Center. He received a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in sociology from Stanford University, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. Mr. Booker studied modern history at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar and was a 2003 Henry Crown Fellow.
