Andrei Cherny
Andrei Cherny is an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, and a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress. He formally served as a Senior Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and was lead negotiator and chief drafter of the national 2000 Democratic Party Platform. Cherny has advised and written speeches for John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Richard Gephardt, Joe Lieberman, and various cabinet members, governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and Fortune 100 CEOs. He wrote The Next Deal: The Future of Public Life in the Information Age, and was founding Editor of Blueprint: Ideas for a New Century, a public policy journal geared toward finding the next set of new ideas for American politics. From 1999 to 2001, he was the Senior Policy Advisor to California State Assembly Speaker Robert Hertzberg. Mr. Cherny graduated with honors from Harvard College and from UC Berkley's Boalt Hall Law School.
